As preparations continue for the 30th session of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission, European industry representatives are calling for management decisions that reflect the current positive state of tuna stocks while supporting long-term sustainability and economic stability.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in Malé, Maldives, from May 11 to 15, 2026, and is expected to bring together member countries, scientists and industry partners to review conservation measures and agree on the future of tuna fisheries in the Indian Ocean.
