¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë: You are heading into the rerun after a closely contested first round. What do you believe the results say about the mood and priorities of the Seychellois electorate today?
Patrick Herminie: Firstly, we would like to thank all the voters who chose to vote for the US candidates as their representatives in the ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë Assembly. I can also reiterate that the elected members of the ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë Assembly are dedicated to the prospect of our beloved country and will ensure that the interests of “the many, not the fewâ€ are respected and implemented as per our manifesto. I would equally like to thank the voters who have cast their votes in my favour. I believe that the Seychellois voters are politically mature. Many promises were made in 2020 by the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS). The 2025 results is a concrete indication that voters are disappointed in the executive and implementation of the supposed ‘change’ that they were promised. Despite having all odds in his favour with the 2/3 LDS majority in the assembly, he still managed to let the Seychellois people down. From 54.8% in 2020 down to 46.4% in 2025. The loss of 8.4% of supporters speaks loudly.
