The Minister for Employment & Human Resource Planning, Idith Alexander, is attending the 114th session of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 1–12, 2026.
Yesterday, June 9, Minister Alexander delivered her address at the plenary session, focusing on this year’s theme: ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) – a technology rapidly reshaping the employment landscape’.
The minister highlighted how AI is transforming routine manual jobs into digitalised and automated services.
She emphasised that while this transition represents progress and innovation, enhancing productivity and public service delivery, workers’ rights must remain at the centre of this transformation.
