Marine Conservation Society ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë launches community-based cetacean monitoring project

A new marine research project led by local cetacean experts from the Marine Conservation Society ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë and the University of ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë is being launched this month to improve understanding of whales and dolphins, collectively known as cetaceans, found in ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë waters.

The project, supported by ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust’s Blue Grants Fund-9, aims to strengthen baseline information on cetaceans by documenting which species are present locally, where they are most frequently observed, and whether populations are resident or migratory. This information is essential for informing future conservation planning and management efforts.
